Quick Navigation
1. Understanding Chat Context
What is Chat Context?
Chat context is like giving your AI assistant a brief introduction before a conversation. It helps the AI understand what you're discussing and provide more relevant, accurate responses.
Think of it this way:
Imagine walking into a meeting room. Without context, you don't know if it's a budget review, product launch, or team celebration. Context tells the AI what "room" it's entering, so it can respond appropriately.
Why Context Matters
✓ With Good Context
- • More accurate transcriptions
- • Relevant AI responses
- • Better understanding of technical terms
- • Appropriate tone and formality
✗ Without Context
- • Generic responses
- • Misunderstood industry terms
- • Less helpful suggestions
- • May miss important nuances
Context Examples
📊 Business Meeting
Context: "Q4 sales review meeting discussing revenue targets and market expansion"
The AI will focus on business metrics, financial terms, and strategic planning.
👨💻 Technical Discussion
Context: "React development session on implementing user authentication"
The AI will understand programming terms, React concepts, and authentication workflows.
🎓 Online Lesson
Context: "Biology lecture on cellular respiration and ATP production"
The AI will recognize scientific terminology and provide educational insights.
🤝 Job Interview
Context: "Frontend developer interview for senior position"
The AI will help capture technical questions and candidate responses accurately.
💡 Pro Tips for Better Context
- • Be specific about the topic and purpose
- • Include relevant industry or technical terms
- • Mention the type of meeting or discussion
- • Add participant roles if relevant (e.g., "customer support call")
3. Recording and Transcribing Audio
How Audio Recording Works
⚠️ Important Recording Requirements
- •Current Tab Only: VoiceMeetAI records audio from the CURRENT TAB only. You must keep the tab with your meeting/video active during recording. Switching tabs will stop audio capture.
- •Keep Extension Open: The VoiceMeetAI extension window must remain open during recording. Closing the extension will stop the recording process.
VoiceMeetAI can capture audio from two sources to create transcriptions and AI responses:
🔊 Tab Audio
Captures sound from your active browser tab (meetings, videos, presentations)
🎤 Microphone (Pro)
Records your voice for questions, comments, or participation
Step-by-Step Recording Guide
1️⃣ Start a New Chat
- Click the "New Chat" button (pencil icon)
- Enter your context (what the conversation is about)
- Click "Submit" to create the chat
2️⃣ Enable Microphone (Optional - Pro Plan)
- Click the microphone button to toggle it on/off
- Green bars indicate your microphone is active and picking up sound
- Click the dropdown arrow to select a different microphone
3️⃣ Record Your Audio
- Click the "Record" button to start capturing audio
- The button changes to "Stop" while recording
- Blue bars show tab audio levels being captured
4️⃣ Get Your Transcription
- Click "Stop" when you're done recording
- The audio is automatically sent for processing
- You'll see the transcription appear in the chat
- The AI will provide a helpful response based on the content
✅ Best Practices
- Ensure clear audio from your tab
- Minimize background noise
- Speak clearly when using microphone
- Keep the extension window open while recording
- Stay on the current tab - don't switch tabs
⚠️ Common Issues
- No audio after tab switch: Stay on the same tab
- Recording stopped: Keep extension window open
- No audio detected: Check tab volume
- Poor transcription: Improve audio quality
- Microphone not working: Check permissions
